Chief Financial Officer @ Effective November 3, 2014 Surgery Partners, a portfolio company of H.I.G. Capital, LLC completed the acquisition of Crestview Partners’ portfolio company Symbion, Inc. The combined business, which is the second largest and fastest growing independent Ambulatory Surgery Center operator in the U.S., will generate over $900 million in annual revenues. Obtained a $1.4 billion new senior secured credit facility financing used to finance the cash consideration paid to consummate the transaction, as well as to repay borrowings under Surgery Partners’ and Symbion’s existing credit facilities. From November 2014 to Present (1 year 2 months) Greater Nashville AreaChief Financial Officer @ Completed a leveraged buyout of the company’s public stock in 2007 through a transaction valued at $647 million, including an equity contribution by Crestview Partners and other private equity firms. The transaction closed in the midst of a national credit crisis which emerged in late 2007 and continued throughout 2008. Provided leadership and guidance to the company throughout the nation’s recession emerging as a result of the credit crisis. Refinanced temporary bridge financing from the leveraged buyout with permanent credit instruments, obtaining favorable ratings from Moody’s and Standard & Poor’s for the company and its credit instruments. Implemented strategies to conserve cash and preserve liquidity during a time of weak economic conditions. Identified creative financing solutions which allowed the existing capital structure to meet the growth expectations for the company. Successfully implemented Electronic Health Records (“EHR") in each of its short stay surgical facilities licensed as a hospital and received reimbursement incentives by successfully demonstrating meaningful use of the company’s certified EHR information technology.
