Devine is also a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University, where she earned her Master of Science in Information Systems and Public Policy. Devine’s professional experience began in 2002 when she was hired as a Senior detective in the criminal intelligence branch of the NYPD. From this position, she gained experience working with a variety of criminal intelligence challenging and complex investigations. Devine has since been promoted to Assistant Special Patrolman in the Criminal Intelligence Bureau and Assistant Chief of Detectives in the Criminal Intelligence Division. As Assistant Chief of Detectives, she was responsible for the supervision and direct supervision of detectives in the force. In her previous positions, Teresa Devine has played a critical role in developing a new Investigative Techniques Unit which reduces the amount of time and manpower dedicated to investigating crimes.Devine is also a highly experienced educator.
