Analog Engineer, iPhone System Hardware @ System validation on iOS devices focus on PMU, Charger, Battery Management Unit. Work with Software team, optimize subsystem behaviors to improve user experience. Validate subsystem behavior in system environment. Schematic review and layout review. Failure analysis. cross-functional support to software team and factory testing team.
Silicon Validation on Charger. understand charger silicon behavior and validate silicon performance. From September 2013 to May 2015 (1 year 9 months) Analog Design Engineer, Automotive Business Unit @ Design mixed signal ICs for automotive application using high voltage/current BiCMOS process.
• Leading a 2.2MHz, 3A current mode step down convertor with integrated high side MOSFET for automotive application. Independently drive the project from product definition to post production support. It took two passes to announce the product, and first pass is highly sample-able to customer.
• Co-lead a 2.2MHz, 2.1A current mode step down convertor with integrated high side MOSFET with load adjusted output for USB application in automotive environment. I take responsible for BUCK portion. We announced the product within three passes, first pass is highly sample-able to customer.
• Leading a 2.2MHz, 3A current mode step down convertor with USB interface for automotive application. This project is intended to improve the eye-diagram and extend coverage to latest portable devices.
• Group support many other projects which I was not design leader. Design logic blocks for them or debug the IC with bugs, find the root causes, also run simulations and bench testing for these projects. From May 2007 to July 2013 (6 years 3 months) Analog Design Engineer, Mixed Signal Automotive Group @ Mixed Signal Automotive Group
Design mixed signal ICs for automotive application using high voltage/current BiCMOS process.
• Participated design, test and bug-fix of five linear regulators which have soft-start function, current limit protection, thermal shut down protection and active-clamp for automotive application, load current up to 400mA.
• Participated design, test and bug-fix of a high voltage (up to 38V) high current(up to 1.2A) switch regulator which has soft start, current sense and limit function and bootstrap gate driver for automotive application.
• Designed from scratch an internal linear regulator design which is sustainable for 200mA transient current spike for automobile application. From May 2005 to May 2007 (2 years 1 month) Dallas/Fort Worth Area
