From September 2015 to December 2015 (4 months) Ann ArborLab Assistant @ University of Michigan Health System Project aimed to develop a method to correct saturation of arterial input function (AIF) in T1-weighted dynamic contrast-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (DCE-MRI) of liver for quantification of liver perfusion involving estimation of hepatic perfusion parameters of a dual-input single compartment model of liver From September 2014 to May 2015 (9 months) Ann ArborResearch Intern @ Bhabha Atomic Research Centre Project, titled ‘2-Dimensional Gel Electrophoresis Image Analysis Using Wavelet Transform’ aimed at detecting protein spots in the gel image and to remove artefacts caused by staining the proteins for detection using wavelet transform. Processing of image was done in MATLAB. From May 2012 to June 2012 (2 months) Trombay, MumbaiResearch Scientist @ Xoran Technologies - Develop image processing algorithms for a compact cone-beam CT scanner for improved brain soft-tissue contrast in CT images.- Develop and validate advanced CT data correction algorithms, such as beam hardening correction, scatter correction, ring removal, cupping correction, etc.- Evaluate CT system performance and perform quantitative image assessment.- Analyze new physical models and image reconstruction algorithms for novel, compact cone-beam CT systems, utilizing x-ray physics, x-ray detection and statistical estimation theories and models.- Design and run x-ray test-bed experiments to analyze fast scattered radiation estimation.- Provide expertise in the area of image quality and modeling optimization for CT scanners and related systems. From February 2016 to April 2018 (2 years 3 months) Ann Arbor, MIResearch Intern @ Xoran Technologies LLC -Acquired experimental data from CT flat-panel detector for calibration and image quality analysis through assessment of image quality metrics including spatial resolution, SNR, CNR and nominal tomographic slice thickness.-Assisted with prototyping of algorithm for cone-beam reconstruction (Feldkamp-based) and artifact reduction for a cone-beam CT scanner.-Worked on correcting for bad pixels of the detector panel in the reconstructed image, which was a cause for line artifacts.-Developed MR-CT image registration algorithm using ITK libraries. From May 2015 to August 2015 (4 months) Ann ArborResearch Thesis Student @ Birla Institute of Technology and Science Pilani Thesis titled ‘Automated Shimming of the Human spinal cord for B0 mapping at 3T’ aimed at automated adjustment of shim homogeneity for shim corrections and computing of field maps in the spinal cord using multiple echo MRI data From January 2014 to May 2014 (5 months) PilaniResearch Scholor @ Polytechnique Montréal Research project aimed at assessing the effects of respiration on the B0 field in human spinal cord at 3T by quantifying field maps under the expired and inspired conditions. Field maps were computed using commands from FSL library and implemented in MATLAB From May 2013 to July 2013 (3 months) Montreal, Canada
