💼 Past Experience

Powersupply Technician from September 2009 to May 2010 (1 year) in his home in Sterling, VA. With the Powersupply Technician position, I served as the main technician for a large home energy retailer in Sterling, VA. The work involved servicing large home appliances, cleaning andmaintenance, as well as providing customer service. The position required days, weeks, or even months away from home to cover shifts. In addition to the shifts I had to take, I also had to attend training classes to learn about the equipment and the company's policies. Tanya's undergraduate degree, in Biology, came from Knox College, a public institution of higher learning in Knoxville, Tennessee.After completing her undergraduate degree, Tanya worked as a research scientist with a biotechnology company for two years. While she enjoyed working with biotechnology companies, she also found her satisfaction in learning various academic disciplines. In short, Tanya completed her undergraduate degree with a biology degree and then spent a few years working with a biotechnology company before deciding to go on to pursue a graduate degree in history with a concentration in American history.Since completing her graduate degree in history, Tanya has pursued additional education and work readiness opportunities. Tanya has worked as a research scientist and historian with a diverse number of companies and nations, and has learned an immense amount about the history of those countries and their people. Tanya is currently a research historian for the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she has worked for the past six years.Tanya has found that her work readiness has improved markedly since she first commenced working in history. Certainly, her prior experience in research and historical workχ has left her well-prepared for the demanding academic work that she enjoyes. However, Tanya has employed her work readiness to improve her other areas as well, first and foremost her communication skills. I successfully recruited a team of technical artists to XTIVIA starting in June 2006. I developed and managed a recruiting effort across Colorado and the Midwest. I had overall responsibility for conducting various recruiting activities such as attending college fairs, soliciting applications from interested students, reading application files, and making decisions on those applications. I also took on additional responsibilities such as driving recruiting strategy and tactics and providing inside Insight on new roles within the organization, strategic opportunities, and growth planning.
