I am a civil engineer with 18 years of experience in the construction industry. I am a committed team player with very good communication skills and strong attention to detail. I form excellent professional relationships with clients and supply chain partners. For the last eight years, I have extended my skills range and diversified in my career as a tender planner. The practical skills gained in ten years of site management have assisted my development in this role.Senior Planner @ I am currently responsible for the preparation of tender submission programmes for a busy civil engineering and infrastructure department. I have also provided assistance to the Rail Division. As part of my role, I develop complex and resourced Gantt charts for infrastructure projects to pre-dominantly private clients. I also produce programme narratives, methodologies and multi phased traffic management plans as required. I provide team assistance with quality submission technical questions and present programme proposals to Directors at tender settlement meetings. In the last eighteen months, I have completed numerous private developer tenders on schemes ranging from Section 278 and 38 highway schemes, earthworks remediation and stabilisation, multi storey car parks for a hospital trust, flood alleviation works and heavy haulage bridge crossings to a railway freight line. From May 2013 to Present (2 years 8 months) Planner @ During my time with Divisional Projects, I was a Planner on the Mersey Gateway Bridge tender responsible for the preparation and submission of the Highways and Land Structure programme. The bid was a true European venture with JV partner companies from the UK, Germany and Spain. I also developed multi-disciplined programme submissions for the AMP4, GBM Water framework. Between 2011 and 2013. In addition to the civil engineering requirements of each of these schemes, I gained an understanding of the key mechanical, electrical, process and systems integration phases required. I gained knowledge of clean water purification processes, filter bed construction and Thermal Hydrolysis Plant Installation. I also gained knowledge of takeover testing and complex commissioning requirements for both clean and sewage water processes. I gained experience of direct client negotiation , programme proposal presentation at tender settlement meetings and the infamous BAFO process. I was also a member of the bid team responsible for the successful award of the five year Manchester Airport Group (MAG) Framework. I was responsible for producing engineering programmes for tender submission purposes and was the lead planner on the Environment Agency National Contract Framework for four years. I also assisted with the development of bid strategies, compilation of concise Methodologies and Programme Narratives to demonstrate best practise and potential innovation/ideas to fit the client’s requirements at both ECI and tender stage.
