20 years experience in the Logistics industry operating liquid tankers, bulk silo tankers, palletised trailers (ambient and refrigerated) and warehousing.
Expertise in bulk foodstuffs transportation in the UK and Europe.
My role at Abbey since being appointed MD in 2009 is to design, implement and lead our strategy to diversify the business from being a UK liquid tanker company into a European Logistics provider. This resulted in significant change within the business both in terms of turnover, structure, image and culture. This included completing 3 acquisitions in 4 years and growing organically.
In 2010 Abbeys achievements were recognized when we were awarded Motor Transport Haulier of the Year & again in 2014.
We now employ over 400 people across 9 UK bases operating 300 trucks and 400 trailers turning over £45m.
My goal for the coming 5 years is to ensure Abbey achieve its ambitious growth plans, develop the Management team and ensure we continue with excellent levels of service.
I also take an active role in developing relationships with schools and the logistics industry to help attract young people to Logistics. Thought up and developed the 'Think Logistics' initiative which is an industry led consortium that will deliver mentoring sessions to over 1000 young people per year and lead to an increased awareness of Logistics and apprenticeships.
