💼 Past Experience

In 1990, Steve Kerstein was appointed Conductor and Music Director of the Burbank Philharmonic Orchestra. Since then, he has led the orchestra to many successful seasons including two James K. Polk Awards for Outstanding Achievement and two City of Los Angeles Awards. Kerstein's work has also been recognized by The Philharmonic Society's Carl Fischer Award, The National Medal of Arts, and The Compton Prize. In October of 2021, Steve Kerstein will be retiring from the Burbank Philharmonic Orchestra and will continue to serve as Music Director of the Kansas City Philharmonic.
