I offer extensive product management experience, in both individual contributor and leadership roles. Drawing on my Mathematics education, I work easily with engineers and teams on technical projects. My early love of math has translated into a current passion for analytics and data-driven decision making.
Working in small companies and reporting directly to CEO and VP-level leaders has kept me close to business needs and instilled in me the understanding of how product must deliver value to the organization. Projects must be examined and evaluated through the lens of customer value, cost and benefit to the business, and fit with short and long-term company strategy.
My experience as a Technical Writer honed my ability to communicate with different audiences and identify which pieces of information are essential to different stakeholders. I've applied this same disciplined thinking and organization to helping teams refine processes and development methodologies in order to improve clarity and throughput.
Leading teams, as a product owner and as a manager, has taught me that everything comes down the people. Organizations, products, and projects all rely on well-functioning teams. These teams are comprised of individuals who thrive when they get personalized attention and coaching from a leader who is willing to take the time to connect with them. Making those connections and facing the challenge of developing people, each of whom may need something slightly different, is the highlight of my day.
