Adjunct faculty: I'm a faculty member for the Masters Program in Philanthropy and Development at Saint Mary's University of Minnesota. This is one of the nation's oldest (and best!) academic programs. The three-person development office was responsible for all fundraising activities including direct mail, phonathon, government and foundation proposals, special events, and personal solicitation from individuals and corporations.During my tenure, I helped the theatre increase its charitable contributions threefold. I'm very proud of the annual personal solicitation campaign that I developed. By the time I left Trinity Rep, 75 volunteers were soliciting 500 individual and corporate prospects each year.I also lead the theatre's efforts in strategic planning, partnered with the CEO to help build the board, and launched the theatre's first formal employee performance evaluation process. From 1981 to 1988 (7 years) Rhode IslandExecutive Director @ Arts Council - Center, Lansing, MI I was the first executive director of a new arts center in Lansing, Michigan. I then engineered a merger with the local community arts council and became the executive director of the merged organization. The Arts Council / Center presented and produced arts activities, provided services to artists and arts organizations, and promoted the arts in the community. I also developed a united arts fund. From 1975 to 1981 (6 years)
