📖 Summary
Marketing Planner @ I worked in the Business to Business area being responsible for campaign selection for direct mail and email campaigns. I used SQL, SAS, Access, Salesforce.com and Unica for the campaign selection process and reporting. Prior to campaign selection the data from Orange need to be processed to customer level which required a lot of analysis as it was business data. I then combined this with data bought from media and supplied it to the sales teams. Response data was input to salesforce.com I also dealt with email campaigns in emailvision to keep regular contact with Orange business customers. From November 2005 to January 2007 (1 year 3 months) Customer Insight Analyst @ I worked on the &more credit card which was launched the week I joined. My main tools were SAS, SQL and Faststats. The &more credit card has loyalty offers regularly. I produced a segmentation based on Womenswear in SAS. This was used to select customers and which offers they would receive. This was completely on a quarterly basis to tight deadlines. In order to get the loyalty mailing completed and to the printer on time involved working with many departments. I was involved in producing the weekly Management Dashboard every week that need to be delivered for 9am on a Monday. This involved working hard with the database administrators so automate the reports. From August 2003 to November 2005 (2 years 4 months) Marketing Analysis @ MACON consulting was a marketing analysis agency in London. The clients were large finance, retail and utilities companies. I was a hands on statistical data analyst. Starting with receiving a CD from the clients and reading the data into SAS. I went on to produce a data audit to clearly explain to the client what data they have and what we can do to help them. Often the analysis would involve campaign analysis for direct mail. I would produce the response rate analysis along with results for any tests, such as creative tests or price tests. This would use t-tests and analysis of variance. At MACON we had use of overlays which I used to add colour to describe the customers. As most clients did not know who their customers were this was very helpful to them. To improve the response rates of the direct mail campaign I built propensity models using SAS. I also selected prospects from clients own customers and Experian lists and processed them in SAS including de-duplicating the prospects and test selection. All analysis was about adding value to the client and improving their response rates and knowledge of their customers. I left when MACON folded. From August 1999 to July 2003 (4 years) Marketing Executive @ I worked for Which? Magazine in the Marketing Department. The whole department followed the Direct Marketing Association Best Practise which I learnt to follow. I was responsible for timely analysis of the Gardening Which? magazine promotions. These were Direct Mail campaigns that happened every six months to Which? Customers and purchased media lists. In addition I produced reports on the book sales advertised in each monthly magazine. The mailings often featured creative tests which I planned the test sizes for. I carried out statistical tests to verify if the tests were a significant improvement. Whilst I worked at Which? I produced two year and five year financial forecasts for Gardening Which? to help out the finance department. I worked with the financial manager and media buyer to maximise the ERI for each mailing along with maximising the number of new subscribers. I left to go travelling with my boyfriend as he had recently been made redundant so it was the right time to take the opportunity.
