Responsible for * Owner, Smart Card Related Standards, Windows Cryptography Architecture, FIPS compliance modules and certain Certificate Services Protocol Specification documents. Modules developed were shipped as a part of Windows XP, Vista, and Windows Server 2000, 2003 and 2008* Authored functional specification for Data Protection API (DPAPI) support in Windows 7.* Feature owner for Smart Card Reader Test Tool and subsequently transitioned to Windows Hardware Quality Labs for use in Logo testing.• Owned “Smart Card Only (no password available) Authentication” pilot program for 50 Microsoft employees. This involved planning, execution, support, bug reporting and working with other teams to get issues resolved.* Partnered with teams in Microsoft to address end-to-end scenarios. We identified missing components and developed value proposition to the teams to address issues.* Successfully negotiated with Microsoft Office team to support Smart Card Authentication in Outlook 2007 by providing the necessary business justification (enabled orders worth more than $500 Million) and identifying solutions for unblocking resources.• Provided analysis and recommendation to the management for Microsoft to join Smart Cards related Standards and Industry organizations.* Help partner teams with EAP-SIM and Near Field Communications (NFC) Standards initiatives by providing them with valuable market insight and strategy.* Team member to develop 10-year Microsoft Authentication Strategy and Owner of 2 sub-groups: Standards and Protocols and Authentication Factors.
