Shiv Dholakia has worked in many different industries and structures, but has always been interested in the film industry. Shiv started working as a Senior Houdini FX Artist at SlateVFXIndustry of Motion Pictures & Film in August 2016, where he was responsible for theatrical graphics and motion capture. In December 2016, he left SlateVFX to join Digital Extremes, where he was a Senior Houdini FX Artist from October 2021 to December 2021. Shiv also worked with Freelancer from October 2021 to October 2021, and with Jellyfish Pictures from September 2020 to December 2020. He then moved to SSVFX from April 2020 to May 2020, and with Frima from January 2016 to June 2016. Afterwards, he worked at Cinesite from May 2011 to December 2011, and with Luma Pictures from January 2008 to May 2008. Shiv also worked at Heckler HQ from October 2021 to December 2021, and with Kevin VFX from August 2021 to September 2021. Shiv Dholakia has a degree in Fine Arts from Academy of Arts University with a specialization in Animation and Visual Effects. Shiv Dholakia has more than five years of experience working in the animation and visual effects industry, having worked at several well-known production companies such as Pixar, Academy of Art University, and Digital Tutors. Shiv Dholakia is currently a certifiedRendermanyer and has worked in both the practical and theoretical aspects of the software since January 2011. Shiv Dholakia is also a certifiedHoudini user, having advanced training in atmospheric physics and dynamics.

💡 Technical & Interpersonal Skills

Shiv Dholakia began his professional career in the year 2007 when he joined the post of Senior Houdini FX Artist at SlateVFX. After three years, he was promoted to the position of Lead Houdini FX Artist. In his time at SlateVFX, Shiv created over eighty Houdini particle effects pilots and over fifty Houdini titles. He also worked on a number of projects for Freelancer, which included projects for CBS VFX, The Learning Company, Jellyfish Pictures, and SSVFX. In his role as Lead Houdini FX Artist, Shiv was responsible for the development and management of all Houdini projects undertaken at SlateVFX.
