Sharon Terry has been with Genetic Alliance for over 10 years, where she has played a role in the development and organization of their products and services. She also has 4 years of experience as a Chaplain at Assumption College, where she worked with students.Sharon Terry understands the importance of using Gestalt Awareness Practice to clear and support the emotions of those involve in medical research. When she first started working at Genetic Alliance, she quickly realized that the way they conducted their business was not in line with how they thought their products could help patients. She established a program called “Gestalt Awareness Practice,” which allows patients to explore their own awareness and support each other. She also helped create a centralized biological and data repository in order to help translational genomic research.Sharon Terry is very passionate about the work that the Genetic Alliance does. She has worked tirelessly to help the company achieve their goals and, most importantly, make a difference in the lives of patients. 🎓 Education

Sharon Terry has a Bachelors of Arts in Religious Studies from Assumption College, where she achieved a distinction as a Scholar in the Class of 1982. Terry then completed a Master of Arts in Religious Studies at Fairfield University, where she earned a magna cum laude distinction in 1976. During her time at Fairfield, she completed Gestalt Practice with Tribal Ground Circle and received the 2017 US Ministry of the Arts Lenox Scholarship. The following year, Terry received an MA in Religious Studies from Assumption College with a distinction in 1984.After earning her MA, Terry spent two years as a Shriver Scholar at the Massachusetts School for Theology and Depth of Thought at Assumption College before returning to Fairfield to start her ownology program. In her second year of the program, Terry was promoted to Assistant Professor and held that position for four years until she joined the faculty of the Waterbury Catholic High School where she currently teaches.Sharon Terry has held various teaching and research positions at various institutions of higher learning, including Assumption College, Fairfield University, the Massachusetts School for Theology and Depth of Thought, and Waterbury Catholic High School. In her current position, she is the Assistant Professor of Religious Studies at Waterbury Catholic High School and a member of the Faculty at the Harvard University Divinity School.Sharon Terry's educational background and work readiness provide a compass for success as a religious studies teacher. Her previous training and experience in Gestalt Practice provides her with the skills and tools necessary to create warm and productive discussions with her students. Her knowledge of earth and space sciences and her experience with philosophy and religious studies provide her students with a broad understanding of the religious traditions they are studying. Terry's enriched education has prepared her to provide interpretive and interpretive courses that engage and engage her students, as well as to provide commentary on current religious issues.

Sharon Terry has over 15 years of experience in organizational leadership and technical support. She started her work life as CEO of aills Genetic Alliance, later flying to Washington D.C. to become President and CEO of Genetic Alliance. After seven years of working in this position, she moved on to become the President and CEO of Genetic Alliance BioBank. There, she led the company in developing a centralized biological and data repository to enable translational genomic research on rare genetic diseases. She also established a partnerships with academic and industrial collaborators to develop novel diagnostics and therapeutics to better understand and treat these diseases. In this position, she was also responsible for building the company into a leading player in the genetic research community.
