Sharif El-mekki has worked in a variety of different professional positions, starting with being a teacher in public schools. After working as an administrator in two schools, Sharif became the founder and CEO of The Fellowship – Black Male Educators for Social Justice, which is a non-profit Delta Sigma Theta sorority. He has also worked as a principal at Edison Learning, a charter school, and as the Chief Executive Officer at The Fellowship – Black Male Educators for Social Justice. In all of these positions, Sharif has been a key player in the development of the school’s curriculum and instruction. In addition, Sharif has also been an advocate for education reform, working on behalf of the chapters of Delta Sigma Theta at various levels.
