Aftergraduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a Communications "Life Science" degree in 2006, Shannon moved to her current role as a Research Scientist at his/her prior employer, The Scripps Research Institutions. Shannon has a proven track record of success in the field of Research Science and has been awarded numerous awards, including the prestigious LabVIEW Award.In the fall of 2016, Shannon moved to work on detecting breast cancer with the BRAFEGRED™ algorithm. This novel approach uses machine learning algorithms to analyze images of tumors to detect life-threatening features that may suggest the cancer is spreading. The results of the project are currently being reviewed by a number of large animal cancer center around the world and are expected to provide valuable early monitoring information that can lead to the development of new tamper-proof cancer detection methods.Shannon Pritchett's current role as a Research Scientist at Scripps Research Institutions allows her to use her skills in research science to develop novel ways to help human beings.
