I have a PhD in Biological Chemistry from Imperial College’s Chemical Biology Doctoral Training Centre, focusing on aspects of molecular biology, organic synthesis and biophysical techniques to investigate cancers.
Having completed my PhD I am now keen to broaden my skill set and face new challenges outside of the research environment.
Through my PhD I have demonstrated a range of transferable skills:

Recently I have been working as a carer, providing respite care for the family of a severely disabled teenager.
Senior Medical Writer @ I have been working as a writer in medical communications for 4 years, having moved into the industry from academic research. I am currently working as a Senior Medical Writer at Inspired Science.
During my career, through working with members of the account team or directly with clients, I have delivered a variety of projects across a range of disease area. By working with the client, together we develop an excellent understanding of the strategic intent behind a project so that I can actively work to ensure all outputs are consistent with the overall brand messages and achieve the desired outcomes for the client. Developing a proactive approach with clients, based upon demonstrated expertise and an understanding of their product, I have helped create strong relationships with clients leading to further collaborative opportunities.
Since joining Inspired Science I have contributed to a selection of accounts for Bayer, including a regular internal newsletter detailing their strategic activities for the local launches of Adempas (riociguat) in pulmonary arterial hypertension and chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension, and a number of symposia for the ophthalmology treatment Eylea (aflibercept).
The REAL meeting is an international 2-day standalone event examining the role of Orencia (abatacept) in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis. Responsibilities included development of all meeting materials, on site attendance and consolidation of outputs for subsequent local affiliate rollout materials.
In the UK Pfizer co-markets the COPD dual bronchodilator Ultibro (glycopyrronium/indacaterol) Breezhaler with Novartis. I have assisted with: a range of key strategic deliverables, such as animations and disease review decks, for both internal and external audiences; key stakeholder positioning advisory board meeting; and the development of a number of congress presentations targeted at healthcare professionals with a range of understanding of the disease area.
