Russ Mann, born in in the early1980s in the town of Zanesville, Ohio, has two fathers who died when he was very young. Russ Mane Mans was his mother's maiden name and her full name was Anna Elizabeth Kapp. Kapp at some point changed it to Mann. Mann's mother worked as a seamstress. Kapp, who was of half-Japanese and / or Alaskan Native descent, was born in Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan on February 10th, 1951. Mann's father, a US Navy aviation engineer, met Kapp while she was working at the Naval Air Stationon Hokkaido. When their families moved to Zanesville, Ohio in the early early 1980s, Kapp took the name Anna Elizabeth Mann. In the early 1990s, Mann received a Bachelor's degree in Anthropology from the University ofCornelius inCornell.Manns had an interesting, schizophrenic, life. After graduating from Cornell University in 1990, Russ Mann took a year off to study Japanese at the Kyoto Consortium for Japanese Studies. Russ Mann later obtained a master's degree, again in Anthropology, from Emory University in 1996. After obtaining his degrees, Mann worked at the Harvard Business School in 1997.Mann's education was not easy. It was difficult for him toitory a normal life due to his schizophrenic disorder. Mann lost touch with his family and friends as a result of his disorder. However, Mann's education enables him to think and process information in a more normal way.
