Department and Current position:
The Tax and Customs Administration of the Netherlands is a national government institution. The Administration is continuously in motion, the field of analytics plays a key component in the institutions' drive for fact-based decision making.
Data & Analytics, as a department, guides this transformation. The department constitutes of approximately 50 data-scientists/programmers and 30 business- and implementation experts. Our main goal is to deliver and use high-quality, robust and optimized products for:
*Risk selection (by using mining & hybrid models);
*Dashboards for day-to-day use (visually attractive integrated customer views);
*Business Intelligence & amendability (accountability and traceability) projects and
*Anti-fraud solutions for detecting and stopping fraud.
In my current position as data- & business analyst for Fraud Analytics my role is to lead our analytics-team and enable the teammembers (programmers and business- and implementation experts) to make the best products they possibly can, whilst programming alongside the team to contribute my fare share.
Trying out new methods and products is a key element of my work, as it might produce insights you'd otherwise never find. The end solutions are always robust though, especially when used by the organizations' implementation partners.
For further explanation see current position under 'Experience'.
