Roger Rafanell received his M.S. degree in Computer Architecture from the Technical University of Catalonia (UPC) in 2014. Before that, he graduated as a Computer Science Engineer in 2010 from Autonomous University of Barcelona, Spain. He was a member of the Workflows and Distributed Computing group of the Barcelona Supercomputing Center, gaining valuable experience working in distributed architectures, parallel programming models and Big Data infrastructures being involved in several EU research projects and contributing to the EGI Federated Cloud Task Force. He is currently leading the technical team of sisu labs and is in charge of the Big Data infrastructure, ensuring the processing and analysis of huge social data streams in real time.

From March 2015 to Present (10 months) Researcher in Cloud Programming Models @ As a researcher I was involved in enhancing COMP Superscalar (COMPSs), the cloud- oriented programming model of Barcelona Supercomputing Center. I was appointed as lead developer of PMES, a component allowing the automatic deployment of COMPSs applications into the Cloud. This component offered the opportunity to work closely to the standards certifying the interoperability with many private cloud middlewares.
