At that time the site employed ~1800 employees with 1000 – 3000 contractors. In this role I ran the site as a single business on behalf of several BP divisions and partners and delivered a transformational programme which improved profitability, operational and HSEQ performance. Concluded successful negotiations to divest the site to a third party. Managed stakeholder, staff and union reaction to sale. From 2004 to 2006 (2 years) Chief Executive Officer @ This high-density polyethylene joint venture (JV) had manufacturing facilities in 5 locations across Europe, a RD&T centre in Brussels, European sales office and HQ in London. The JV became the market leader in many market sectors globally and one of the top three HDPE producers in Europe with sales of 1.25 million tonnes, turnover of €1bn and 1200 employees across the UK, France, Belgium and Italy. I was accountable for the project to bring the JV together, appoint its leadership team, make it operational, capture the synergies and re-image to create a leading polymer company. All milestones were delivered with synergies considerably exceeding expectations. All customers transferred successfully without loss of business and a single CRM system installed.
