I am currently studying towards an MSc in Information Studies at the University of Amsterdam, focussing on a plethora of modules connected to Human-Computer Interaction including mobile application design, intelligent interactive systems, & visual search engines. I'm also a recent Media & Anthropology graduate with experience in managing small teams (up to 12 in personnel) and planning, leading and completing technical projects that have very limited time-scales.
My most recent specialization relates to my time as the Station Manager of Wired Radio , during which myself and a small team of colleagues completed a brand new studio build and installation, a complete re brand of the stations identity, and successfully undertook the first ever outdoor broadcast in the stations history. The station was also short-listed for "Most Improved Station" at the "I Love Student Radio" awards. Beyond the technical rebuilding of the station, I also led numerous online social media campaigns which focussed on increasing listenership and expanding audience demographics who listened to the station. I also have experience writing professional web copy for the station through posting regular updates and writing key information for online visitors to the site to view.
Sales Intern Team UK @ From September 2015 to November 2015 (3 months) Amsterdam Area, NetherlandsStation Manager @ Wired Radio is the student run radio station of Goldsmiths, University of London. My time at the station saw a radical overhaul with a new studio, website and brand identity created amongst many other changes.
My role at Wired involved the management & facilitation of almost every aspect of the station, sharing tasks between myself and a small team of around 3 or so other sub-managers. From allocating the 100 or so slots on our schedule, organizing training sessions,to planning, building & configuring the computer play-out systems within the studio, my tasks were constantly expansive and diverse. I also assisted in the organisation of our events including organizing the station's first ever awards ceremony, and lead our first ever outdoor broadcast covering the annual Varsity Cup sports tournament that Goldsmiths participates in.
My time spent at Wired saw the station reach numerous unprecedented milestones including but not limited to the following:
• Completion of a brand new studio, including the building of furniture, computer systems, & installation of equipment, all done within a 2 week time scale.
• Rejoining the industry recognized Student Radio Association after a 6 year hiatus.
• Shortlisted for "Most Improved Station" at the 2014 "I Love Student Radio Awards".
• A 400% increase in the frequency of events put on by the station compared to last year. The events were also hugely successful, generating over £1300 for the station.
• First ever outdoor broadcasts in the history of the station, and the establishment of a secondary audio stream specifically for that purpose known as "Wired Alfresco".
• Significant decrease in "dead-air" thanks to the installation of the computer playout system reducing it down to only 3 instances over the whole year (campus-wide internet failure). In previous years dead air was a daily occurrence.
• Lead numerous online social media campaigns to increase listenership and expand audience demographics.
