Robert Almonte has had a long and varied career in the law enforcement field. He started out as a Deputy Chief with the El Paso Police Department from 1978-1983. From there, he move up through the ranks, becoming Senior Deputy Chief with the United States Marshal's Service in May 2010. From there, he was elected as President of the Narcotics Training Specialists in August 2003. Finally, Almonte moved to the El Paso Police Department as Executive Director from January 2004-May 2010.While his first tray as Executive Director spanned many years, it was his time as Deputy Chief that Robert Almonte most remembers. He was a Deputy Chief during some of the most difficult times for the El Paso Police Department, such as the 2003 El Paso homicide crisis.
