About:
To transform surface transportation systems such that they are both safe and sustainable. Keeping in mind that transportation demand is derived from other purposes, transportation itself should impose as small a negative footprint (pollution, carbon, etc.) as possible and offer as few barriers as possible to promoting healthy individuals and a healthy planet.

Director, Transportation Systems Analysis @ I manage and conduct research studies for a number of public- and private sector organizations, such as departments of transportation and automotive industry OEMs. The studies tend to focus on transportation systems and effects thereof, generally with a planning or policy bent. This is my second tour of duty with CAR, having worked for them within Altarum circa 2002-03. From April 2007 to Present (8 years 9 months) Senior Research Scientist @ MTRI excels in applying remote sensing to environmental monitoring and a variety of other domains. I added transportation system expertise. From October 2006 to April 2007 (7 months) Senior Project Manager @ Worked primarily on transportation projects, e.g., Transportation Applications of Restricted Use Technology Study for Michigan Department of Transportation. From April 2002 to September 2006 (4 years 6 months) Lecturer @ Teach first-year engineering course, mostly. From 1999 to 2006 (7 years) Senior Project Manager @ Conduct evaluations of large-scale field tests of intelligent transportation systems projects. From 1994 to 2001 (7 years)
Urban, Technological, and Environmental Planning @ University of Michigan From 1991 to 2012 MS, Technology and Science Policy @ Georgia Institute of Technology From 1989 to 1991 BS, Chemical Engineering @ Northwestern University From 1982 to 1986 Richard Wallace is skilled in: Program Management, Research, Management, Transportation Planning, Strategic Planning, Data Analysis, Systems Engineering, Analysis, Business Strategy, Product Development, Cross-functional Team Leadership, Proposal Writing, Project Management, Public Speaking, Business Development
