Driven, motivated developer looking for a new, challenging and progressive opportunity. Passionate about developing easy to use and easy to maintain systems using modern technologies.Contract Developer @ I was part of a 9 person Agile development team working on a large number of diverse applications for the Houses of Parliament. Our team developed various LOB applications, primarily written on an Asp.Net MVC/Entity Framework stack. These applications ranged from CRUD based data entry applications, to workflow based business process applications. We have also developed a number of phone apps using the ionic framework based on angularJS, including a parliamentary phone contacts app, a visitor tour app, and an angularJS only web app for a piece of art work soon to displayed in the Houses of Parliament, which includes a complex art css animation devised by myself. The most significant project during my time in the team is a re-write of Hansard Online, the online portal of official spoken and written proceeding in Parliament. This project is beginning its public beta phase at https://hansard.digiminster.com/. It is a mobile responsive application written in Asp.Net MVC/Web Api which has required a lot of attention to detail of presentation and UX design to make the content discoverable. During my time in the team they have used my previous experience in Azure and Authentication to put together a number of Single Sign On prototypes to replace the Windows Authentication and Asp.Net Membership technologies used currently and allow them to move their hosting environment to Azure. From April 2015 to September 2015 (6 months) Contract Developer @ I was a core developer of a 4 person development team working on a greenfield web application project to streamline the business processes of a Facilities Management company. The application consisted of an AngularJS based web portal built in Asp.Net MVC, communicating with an Asp.Net Web Api backend api using an Entity Framework 6 Code First domain model. The application was hosted in Azure using Azure Websites, Azure Webjobs, Azure Sql, Azure Storage, and Azure Hybrid Connections to interop with an on-site Sql Server database and authentication api. From August 2014 to February 2015 (7 months) Developer @ I am a core member of the Systems Architecture team, developing and supporting a number of core web/back-end systems, and tools used by the University. I am the lead developer and analyst for a number of these systems including our in house email and letter communication system. From July 2008 to June 2014 (6 years) MEng Electronic Engineering, First class Honours @ University of Southampton From 2004 to 2008 Richard Oliver is skilled in: C#, JavaScript, HTML, SQL, ASP.NET MVC, MVVM, Test Driven Development, ASP.NET, WCF, TFS, Autofac, Git, NUnit, Entity Framework, Node.js, MVC, XML, .NET, Visual Studio, Microsoft SQL Server, Agile Methodologies
