Over the last 15 years I have worked on many e-commerce websites, REST/SOAP interfaces and Javascript/jQuery front ends with plenty of XML/JSON manipulation. My systems administration is also very strong and includes caching technologies, iptables, compiling and patching software, packaging, GIT/SVN management, 3rd line support, networking and general troubleshooting. I am self motivated and able to work in a team.

Ruby-on-Rails & Embedded Yocto developer @ Ruby-on-Rails/jQuery user interface design & development for a proof of concept that sadly didn't go head. Using the Yocto Project I built a Linux distribution as the UI was running on an embedded ARM board. From February 2015 to March 2015 (2 months) Ruby-on-Rails Lead and Systems Architect @ Designed and built hosting for WordPress websites on the Amazon Web Services platform. Using load balancers for redundancy, RDS for MySQL and making use of 3rd party Web Application Firewalls for caching and security. Debugging WordPress/PHP was a large part of this job with a focus on problematic websites. All internal systems were written in Ruby-on-Rails including billing integration (REST interface) and system overview and monitoring. From January 2013 to December 2014 (2 years) Web Developer @ I left the UK in 2011, with long visits to Asia and North Africa but worked on smaller projects for previous employers. During this time I worked in RoR/PHP/jQuery/MySQL with a focus on WordPress plugins, CDN deployment and CORS for responsive page loads. Security, double authentication mechanisms and CRLF were also a focus during this period. From January 2012 to December 2012 (1 year) Senior PHP Developer @ REST interface design and development using Zend Framework MVC for this VOIP and mobile operator. I worked with the systems admin team with software packaging, SIP debugging tools, server configuration tools and internal user interfaces as needed. Agile concepts were adopted at this company. From June 2009 to December 2011 (2 years 7 months) Senior C++ and PHP Developer - Web Filtering (contract) @ My job involved PHP and MySQL development and integration of Streamshield Networks web filtering system via a SOAP interface (see below). This also involved configuring and administering Squid as a proxy. I wrote various modules in c++ for this role. From July 2005 to June 2009 (4 years) Junior PHP Developer (contract) @ My job involved building a web-based user interface using PHP, MySQL and Javascript for a web filtering service. The back-end service was configured using SOAP and run in Cron. From February 2002 to July 2005 (3 years 6 months) Junior Solaris Administrator and Web Developer @ Solaris Administration including Apache and MySQL. Web development in Javascript, PHP and MySQL. I implemented an SNMP client-facing portal for router statics, using MRTG. From February 1999 to February 2002 (3 years 1 month)
