He recently ran all the business functions at Kaggle, where he drove the company's entry into the energy sector. Immediately prior to Kaggle, Rich co-founded one of the pioneering companies using satellite data and scalable cloud computing to predict weather events for commodity traders. Rich is the former Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Zip2, an Internet 1.0 company best known for analytics and visualization of geospatial data. He ran the Sound Blaster business at Creative Labs during the time it gained market dominance growing the business units under his direction from under $100M to close to $1 billion in revenues. Rich's prior experience includes NASA (as an intern, working on space debris tracking and the budget for the space station), Goldman Sachs (helped initiate research coverage of supercomputers), Bain (focused on information services), and Ashton-Tate (database visualization tools). He has served as a Board Member at several private and public companies as well as Jewish Family and Children's Services, AIPAC Pacific Northwest, and the Yale Development Board. Rich also has extensive political experience including Chair of the Technology Advisory Board for Congressman Devin Nunes and extensive advocacy work in Congress.
