During these years I've have been developing an expertise in building scalable systems and managing distributed tech teams. I had the pleasure to help Wonga.com in it's infancy and to take part on one of the Uk's most innovative businesses. Wonga estimated value in 2013 was around $1.2 billion. I was responsible of building the MVP of Wonga.com base systems with a fellow developer. I helped the company grow to 1 million loans and produced code across different systems including the decisioning engine and the payment gateway. Stayed at Wonga for 2 years and a half until the company became more corporate. During this time I was mentored by the scientist, artist, co-founder and CTO of Wonga Jonty Hurwitz that taught me how to develop my professional, creative and technical skills. More recently I was the CTO of Printi for 2 years and helped this startup to grow from an MVP (before funding) to exit (Vista Print acquisition - NASDAQ:VPRT, http://onforb.es/1tsC2sS , http://tcrn.ch/10GqHi1 ). It took 2 years to help the company go from MVP to Exit. I built Printi's website and systems from London together with the founders and was invited to move to Brazil after Series A of funding (1.2 million dollars) to continue working on what I started on the technical side. I saw the company going from 7 to 80 employees in 2 years and was the second developer entering the IT Wonga team managed by Jonty Hurwitz. The modules built include the wonga.com website, samedaycash.com website, lead generation system, payment gateway which integrates Wonga with HSBC and enables faster payments and chaps and also the Credit decision engine project. Worked directly with the CEO ( Errol Damelin ) and CTO ( Jonty Hurwitz ) which provided me knowledge and insight of Wonga’s business processes and saw how a successful IT team needs to be managed to achieve worldwide success. Also worked side by side with outsourced IT teams hired by Wonga and was involved on the recruitment process of developers. At Wonga I learned from Errol Damelin and Jonty Hurwitz a "Can Do" attitude and how to be creative and smart when it comes to designing good technical solutions. I also absorbed and understood what is the right mindset that needs to be applied on successful startups. Wonga.com was an amazing training ground that gave me the tools to thrive in the startup world.
