Development Economics Research Group @ - Quantitative methods for poverty mapping: Develop new methodologies to improve the measurement, mapping, dynamic tracking, and international comparisons of standards of living by adapting small-area estimation and multiple imputation techniques to a combination of large-scale household surveys, national censuses, administrative data, and geotagged data. - Trade-shocks and household welfare: Develop a model for the transmission of trade-related shocks within a domestic economy, and a toolkit to measure their impact on household welfare. The toolkit offers alternative methodologies depending on data availability. - Analysis of partial-year effects on firm exports: We show that some of the stylized facts from the trade literature which have informed policy reform are the result of data artifacts. - Trade competitiveness diagnostics for countries in Central Asia: Inform trade-reform talks in five Central Asian nations by running a battery of statistical trade diagnostics for these economies separately, for intra-regional trade, for trade with regional growth poles, and for comparable economies in other regions.
