I am dedicated to whatever is placed in my hands. Whether this means building relationships, leading discussions, coordinating schedules, collaborating on projects, or advocating a cause; I will make sure that whatever I have to accomplish is done well.
Human Resources Coordinator @ I currently provide operational support to the Director of Human Resources and HR Generalists. I am responsible for recruitment, onboarding, and administration of employee recognition programs, service awards, company sponsored events, meetings, and training sessions.
My recruiting responsibilities include the following: maintaining internal/external job postings, pursuing passive talent, reviewing resumes, conducting phone screening and interviews, coordinating travel/lodging arrangements when necessary, scheduling interviews with hiring managers, tracking pertinent applicant and interview data, and ordering/monitoring background checks.
My onboarding responsibilities include facilitating new hire orientation, working with new hires on paperwork/first day logistics, and collaborating with the Training & Development team to ensure new hires are enrolled in a training program that align with with their roles. From June 2015 to Present (6 months) Greater Omaha AreaHuman Resources Intern @ Partnered in recruiting, hiring, and onboarding process while maintaining EEO, Affirmative Action, and OFCCP regulations. Tasks include revising job descriptions, postings jobs, reviewing resumes, providing feedback, conducting reference checks, participating in telephone and face-to-face interviews, corresponding with candidates, assisting in new hire orientation and paperwork. Developed strategies/ideas on enhancing and implementing employee wellness. Participated with other HR projects and initiatives (such as rolling out the Cornerstone Performance Appraisal System). From January 2015 to April 2015 (4 months) Chicago, IllinoisSourcing (HR) Intern @ Proactively recruited and sourced superior talent for the "Top 10" internship program (see link below). This included communicating with individuals, coordinating scheduling for interviews, co-conducteding interviews and evaluating candidates with Talent Acquisition Supervisor. From September 2014 to December 2014 (4 months) Dordt CollegeAdmissions Assistant @ As an admissions assistant, I was able to be the first person to welcome prospective students and their families as they come to campus for a visit (sometimes for the first time). I got the chance to make them feel comfortable and give them the information needed in order for the visit to run smoothly. I directed them to where they needed to go, helped them get connected to their hosts, and answered any questions that they had.
In this position I was also able to lead visitors around the campus on the tours, and show them the culture and community at Dordt College. I communicated with them about the college's mission, vision, strengths, and opportunities. From August 2013 to December 2014 (1 year 5 months) Dordt CollegeHuman Resources Intern @ I participated in all aspects of the recruitment and selection process at MetalTek; this included reviewing resumes, making recommendations on candidates, phones screening, participating in interviews, reference/background checking (CCAP), and onboarding responsibilities such as offers, benefits paperwork, etc. Coordinating and scheduling the New Employee Orientation and performing superior customer service for employee inquires were some of my other responsibilities.
Throughout my time at MetalTek, I regularly experienced exposure to confidential documents, record-keeping guidelines, the HRIS system (Ultipro), HR policy, best practices, and employee relations (including the unemployment, employee files, and disciplinary documentation). Near the end of my internship, I helped with the legwork on an unemployment claim. From May 2014 to August 2014 (4 months) Waukesha, WIDevelopment Intern @ Through Volunteer Services, which is a part of the Development Department, I was honored to help Habitat for Humanity further their vision to provide affordable home ownership and neighborhood revitalization. As an intern, I was able to learn what goes on within a Non-Profit on a day-to-day basis by assisting many projects and participating in the following:

• Assisted in employee and volunteer recognition initiatives
• Corresponded and collaborated frequently with co-workers and volunteers
• Attended important meetings, events, and house dedications on site From June 2013 to August 2013 (3 months) Greater Grand Rapids, Michigan AreaResident Assistant @ A resident assistant is a very highly esteemed position among students at Dordt College. The Job includes many responsibilities including: mentoring, programing that helps students learn, collaborating ideas/working with a team, developing leadership skills through training and experience, and mediating conflict and issues. The more time that I spent working as an RA, the more I learned how to relate to people with a wide range of personalities and backgrounds, grow in my leadership ability, and facilitate a comfortable environment for people. From August 2012 to May 2013 (10 months) Sioux City, Iowa AreaDevelopment Intern @ In the summer I had a chance to work in the Development Office in the Milwaukee Rescue Mission. This opportunity gave me practical experience working alongside many knowledgeable people who taught me the in's and out's of a business (specifically in the non-profit sector). Throughout this internship I did many things including, participating in meetings in upper management, effectively organizing and handling important documents/information, and sharpening essential vocational skills. From June 2012 to August 2012 (3 months) Milwaukee, WIEmployee @ Indulgence Chocolatiers is a small, successful business with close-knit co-workers. As an employee at Indulgence, I had an opportunity to learn the inner-workings of small businesses while learning how to work well with people from many different backgrounds and walks of life. At Indulgence, I got a chance to market our products through demos. I also was able to further my competence in congenial customer service.
