Biography:Ravi Acharya was born in India in 1967. Acharya graduated with a degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from New Delhi's Vikram Sarabhai Institute of Technology in 1990. He is a successful graduate of the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (IIT-B), having graduated with the first rank in his classes in 1990.He worked as a research scientist at a leading Indian company before moving to the United States in 1993 to work as a senior research scientist at Honeywell Electric Products. Acharya then returned to India in 1995 and worked as a research scientist at the Vikram Sarabhai Institute of Technology until he obtained his PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay in 1998.He began his career as a postdoctoral scientist at Rice University in Houston, Texas, from 1998 to 2001. He then worked as a research associate at the National Science Foundation's Division for Atmospheric Sciences in Boulder, Colorado, from 2001 to 2002.Acharya moved to Atlanta, Georgia, in 2002 and began his career as a research associate at the National Vision Inc. company. He then became a Director of Solutions Architecture there from October 2000 to July 2003. Acharya was also a Divisional CIO at Medtronic from June 2015 to March 2019.Acharya is also a founder and directorship of Sahaaya, an exploratory initiative focused on simplifying taking care of seniors, remotely. Acharya is also a director of the Trusted Senior Living Forum, an industry-wide collaborative network of senior living experts. He is also a director of the International Academy of Senior Living, aALT think-tank.
