💼 Past Experience

My undergraduate experience at the University of Arkansas - Fort Smith was studying business administration. After I graduated, I started out in the corporate world. I was a manager at an aluminum company for two years. Then I started working in venture capital and private equity.In my spare time, I like to play golf, cook, and watchTED Talks.

- Graduated as a Engineer in 1981- moved on to study at the University of Cambridge, England- Then, worked for Philips International (Euratom) and Elmegro Power Systems- Left Philips in 1993, to start his own company- Appointed as CEO of Radboud University Medical Centre in February 2017- Vlaar is a Professor of Orthopedics and Neurotology at Radboud University Medical Centre and a Director at the Research Foundation Kinderland (FFK)Radboud Vlaar has a rich academic background that allows him to develop sidelined nerves in patients. In his previous positions, Vlaar has been able to use expertise in various fields to help prosthetics and other medical devices become more efficient. He has also been involved in developing new technologies for treating various forms of dementia and ALS.Under Vlaar's guidance, Radboud University Medical Center is rapidly becoming one of the world's leading medical centres. In 2017, the medical center was named one of the "FastestGrowing Hospitals in the World" by Forbes magazine. Radboud University Medical Centre is also a partner of several prestigious medical groups, such as The Medical Bank of Amsterdam, which allows for treatments to be delivered to the whole of the Netherlands.Radboud University Medical Centre is a world-renownedreatment facility and named one of the "Most Improved Hospitals in the Netherlands" in 2016. Born in 1956 in Rotterdam, Netherlands, Vlaar holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering (1981) and a M.S. in Business Administration (1987) from the University of Arkansas - Fort Smith. After completing his undergraduate studies, Vlaar worked as a Mechanical Engineer at Bosch Heavy Industries in the Netherlands until 1989. After a two-year stint as the Manager of Technology at tpg, Vlaar moved to the United States in January 2000 to become the Manager of Business Development at Texas Power & Communications, Inc. There he held the position until January 2002. From January 2002 to September 2013, Vlaar was a Partner at Mckinsey LLP., where he held the position of Manager of Venture Capital, Corporate Development, and Private Equity. At Mckinsey, he focused on Corporate Risk and Business Ventures. He also served as a Guest lecturer at The John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University and was a Rockefeller Fellow at the New York University Stern School of Business.
