Completed 5-year strategic business plan; deployed real estate integrated processes for asset management and disposition functions; rolled out procedures for commercial credit under writing, loan pricing, loan processing, loan documentation etc.; instituted standardized system for loan participation's, loan pooling and ultimate loan securitization from Main Street to Wall Street. Formulated strategy to restructure $1.8 billion savings bank into “Good Bank - Bad Bank” model to isolate marginal and non-performing RE assets at request of Senior Chairman of BOD. Set up wholly owned subsidiary, “Bad Bank,” to manage $1.6 billion loan workouts, loan restructuring, asset rehabilitation or disposition; created spinoff, “Good Bank,” to operate as $250 million savings bank with same BOD; initiated operating policies and procedures. Protected stockholders and stakeholders investments; Bad Bank instituted recovery asset program recovering 85% of mark to market RE value; enabled Good Bank to grow diversified controlled quality assets.
Reorganized mortgage company, subsidiary of $1.8 billion savings bank, to maximize profitability. Interviewed executive staffs of parent and subsidiary to understand standard operating procedures and processes; evaluated loan production offices’ (LPO) market penetration, market share and branch profitability; found 18 of 36 profitable; closed 18 LPO; sold off RE; recommended sale and renegotiation of lease agreements; established new loan origination goals; established virtual offices. Reduced operating costs 60% totaling $3.7 million annually. From 1986 to 2005 (19 years) Greater Atlanta AreaExecutive Vice President @ Performed company and market evaluation and made recommendations to grow business for financial services company. Developed operating models to include: asset budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, business plan development, loan work out, loan restructuring and government reporting and compliance; built staff to 75; wrote $2 billion in government proposals; made presentations to state/regional offices of Resolution Trust Corporation, (RTC).
