I have 14 years of experience of working in the field of private sector development with focus on MSME/ artisan cluster development. Over these years, i have gained an insight into the macro and micro issues related to the sector. I have worked both at the ground/ association level as well at policy level to conceptualizing and implementing projects/ programmes aimed at human and institutional capacity building. Major role play during all these years has been to assist enterprises/ their collectives in competitiveness enhancement. I have hands on experience of working with cluster associations and national level MSME association, during which I worked on strengthening the organisations, reform agendas, formation of consortiums for project execution etc. Currently I work on project formulation, coordination and management of cluster development projects in MSME clusters besides working on advisory mandates related to policy formulation and research. I have direct exposure to more than 25 clusters and have worked across sectors as textiles, leather, electronics, engineering, auto components, pharma, handicrafts etc.
Head- Supplementary Education and Community Engagament @ This practice encompasses projects in the area of supplementary education where community engagement is the key.
Providing solution to corporates to discharge their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) forms a major part of the practice. My role is to manage projects which are large scale, multi locational and multidimensional. This includes need assessment, programme design & development, planning and implementation.
Strategy and business development for the practice are other two key functional areas.
Forging new partnerships, devising new models for service delivery, leveraging the huge outreach of organisation to come out with new solutions remain focus areas. From August 2015 to Present (5 months) New Delhi Area, IndiaAsst Vice President @ I was heading the 'strategy and innovation' unit for the organisation and the responsibilities included identification of new areas of interest for the organisation which aligned with the competencies both in the Government and bilateral/ multilateral organisations' domain. The focus of the group was to have a coordinated strategy across and regions, sectors, themes, knowledge partnerships and business development. Worked on scaling up the initiatives in the focus sectors such as electronics, plastics and industrial corridors aimed at local economic development. From April 2011 to July 2015 (4 years 4 months) New Delhi Area, IndiaSr. Manager @ As Sr. Manager, I was responsible for project development and project execution especially for the projects which involved concepts and frameworks new to the organisation. Some such projects were the growth pole concept, setting up of AYUSH common facilities, development of market for Business Development Services (BDS) in Kanpur leather cluster etc. Besides project execution, I was also responsible for knowledge management, corporate communication and business development From April 2007 to March 2011 (4 years) New Delhi Area, IndiaManager- Capacity Building @ As a capacity building expert, my responsibility was to work very closely with groups of entrepreneurs especially MSMEs to create awareness about the cluster concept and the opportunities that could be accessed by pooling resources and working together. This was part of the project development exercise and laid the foundation for execution of successful projects like textile parks etc. The responsibilities further included facilitating access of these groups to business development service providers to enhance their competitiveness. From June 2005 to April 2007 (1 year 11 months) New Delhi Area, IndiaJoint Secretary @ FISME is the largest network of MSME associations across India. At FISME, I was working on policy and advocacy related issues besides specifically handling two multilateral funded projects. One project was an UNCTAD project titled ' Strategies and preparedness for trade and globalisation' and the other project was a UNIDO funded project for training of Export BDS. From May 2004 to May 2005 (1 year 1 month)
