Piotr Matejczyk is an Architect in the Chicago Metropolitan area. Piotr currently holds the position of Associate Principal at a local Chicago architecture firm. Piotr was born in Bialystok, Poland. At the age of 6, he moved to the United States with his immediate family. Seeing Chicago as his home, Piotr enrolled at the University of Illinois at Chicago where he received his Bachelors of Science in Architecture. While studying at the University, he began his professional career by interning at his current design firm. Graduating top 5 in his class with high honors, Piotr became an associate architect at the firm, working full-time over 3 years on multiple design projects. Piotr returned to school at the Illinois Institute of Technology where he received his Master's of Architecture. Going to school full-time and working part-time, Piotr graduated ranked top of his class, receiving the AIA (American Institute of Architects) School Medal and Certificate of of Merit. Throughout his professional career, Piotr has worked on a variety of design projects across the midwest, ranging from the micro to the macro scales. Projects include residential units (single and multi-family), commercial interiors, entertainment venues, educational facilities and city-wide master planning. It is important to Piotr that he not limit himself to any one particular style of architecture, but rather engage himself with all aspects of design. Some of Piotr Matejczyk's merits include: Louis Vuitton Spark Award, AIA Medal and Certificate of Merit, ALA Merit Award, UIC Academic Achievement Award, Barnhart Scholarship Award, Jerrold & Ruth Loebl Fellowship Award, IIT Graduate Dean Scholarship Award.
