I suppose the best way to describe me is as a Serial Web Entrepreneur, Angel Investor, and explorer of new, world-changing ideas. I started when I was 21 years old by building the UK's first ever price comparison site called Shopgenie in 1998, by learning coding every morning and evening while on the bus to my old job. After securing £150k of investment, and building a great team, we merged with the French company Kelkoo back in 2000 where I ran the UK and then joined the International Product Development team. Kelkoo was sold to Yahoo in 2004. Since then I co-founded a small venture business based in Cambridge, London, that invested in and grew businesses such as BroadbandGenie (broadband and mobile comparison site), Crowdstorm (long tail price comparison), and Kopi (coffee subscription club). I was also a co-founder and product director of a high end group buying site called Keynoir.com which secured funding from Index Ventures back in 2010. Proud to say I was the first to bring on Gordon Ramsay restaurants on to a daily deal site! We eventually sold to Time Out in what became very difficult market conditions. Right now I’ve developed an incubator / studio for brand new world-changing mobile commerce ideas (to be launched in 2016) under the name LittleBlueTribe, while also a mentor and venture partner for EntrepreneurFirst - invests in bright, deep technical individuals and helps them find a co-founder, idea, and funds them for 6 months. Oh - I also angel invest in UK startups (8 so far) and have a strong network of angel investors who I regularly collaborate with.
