💼 Past Experience

My work experiences as an adjunct fellow at Center for a New American Security (CNAS) and as aSenior Advisor for Afghanistan and Pakistan at National Security Council have given me aledge of the complex issues and processes that go into making our region a priority for American foreign policy. I am also familiar with the National Security Council's Afghanistan and Pakistan Country Directors role and the ways the National Security Council helps to provide the coverage and analysis needed for policy making in these two unique, but interconnected, governments.

🎓 Education

Philip Reiner's education has focused on studies at one of America's top universities - The Johns Hopkins University. He first graduated with a B.S. in Political Science in 1984, and later completed his M.A. in Political Science in 1989.After his moves to California and additional study at the University of California, Santa Barbara, Philip Reiner completed his Ph.D. in Political Science in 2003.In his MA and PhD studies, Philip Reiner focused on the study of international conflict and diplomacy. This research ultimately led to his work-readiness and future political policy predictions.Due to his professional background in Political Science, Philip Reiner has an impressively deep understanding of politics and strategy. This has allowed him to take on a variety of high-profile roles and projects, both within the Democratic Party and outside of it.Most recently, he served as the Political Director at the Center for American Progress (CAP), a progressive think tank in Washington, D.C. While at CAP, Philip Reiner was able to develop and oversee a number of progressive policy initiatives.Philip Reiner's experiences, education and work readiness makes him an ideally suited candidate for a number of leadership roles in the Democratic Party. In his previous roles at National Security Council and National Security Advisor for Afghanistan and Pakistan, he was responsible for policy development and oversight of activities in those countries. Furthermore, he also played an important role in the formulation of US strategic goals for Afghanistan and Pakistan, as well as the development of US support strategy for those countries.In his spare time, Philip Reiner likes to enjoy participating in sport, playing tennis and golf, and spending time with his wife and two daughters.
