The Group CFO role was created to integrate the four regional businesses into the newly formed group structure with a single board, institute a step change in financial oversight and performance to ASX listed standards, business partner the CEO, set up a new group finance office with all the associated policies and procedures from scratch, and set the financial strategy for the group. From June 2010 to September 2015 (5 years 4 months) Sydney, AustraliaASX Listed Public Company CFO @ DCA was an ASX 100 listed company operating a diversified healthcare business in Australia, New Zealand and the UK. It operated Amity and Guardian, the largest ANZ aged care business, IMED/MIA, the diagnostic imaging business, and the Heart Care Group. DCA had revenues of $1.0 billion, market capitalisation of $1.8 billion, employed 7000 people and had $2.4 billion in assets. DCA was sold in 2007 to CVC private equity via a scheme of arrangement for $2.75 billion making it the largest public to private equity deal at the time in Australia. The Imaging business was spun into another CVC fund and the aged care business sold to BUPA for $1.2 billion. Position was a listed company CFO role (including hands on board role in development of the aged care business) which transitioned into private equity investment CFO role and then into a CFO and director role in the transition of the business to BUPA. From 2005 to 2010 (5 years) Sydney, AustraliaCFO @ Blake Dawson Waldron (now Ashurst) is one of Australia's leading international law firms with more than 190 partners, 1600 staff and offices throughout Australia and in selected overseas locations. The CFO position served on the firm's executive committee and led all financial, commercial, company secretarial and property activities. From 2003 to 2005 (2 years) Sydney, AustraliaDivisional CFO @ Goodman Fielder was Australia's largest bakery, baked goods, and flour milling business. The CFO role led the finance team for a Baking division with sales of over $800m of manufactured, marketed and distributed 1 million units of bread and baked goods (very fast moving consumer branded) every day from 2000 sku's for over 30000 customers daily produced in 35 plants and distributed through 90 distribution centres. The CFO role for the Milling business was to acquire, integrate and restructure the newly acquired Bunge Defiance business ($414m), lead the financial team, and then sell the business on an improved earnings multiple to Cargill and Graincorp with a negotiated supply contract for flour back to the bakeries. From 1998 to 2003 (5 years) Sydney, AustraliaVP Finance @ Vice President Finance for the Asia Pacific region and then the Global Yeast business. Joined BPC in Treasury initially covering overseas currency hedging and moved onto M&A with lead roles in the sale of BBC Hardware and Tradelink Plumbing, before moving into the regional CFO role growing the Yeast and Food businesses in Asia, USA and Europe.
