I was the first full-time member and built the team up to a 30 person org located across seven countries. The primary marketing focus was on promoting Google's advertising platforms, including AdWords. The team was responsive for: paid and natural search; display ads; landing pages; funnel optimization; analytics and reporting; training; and building custom optimization tools. I began at Google as the team lead for the Americas (North & South) centralized B2B Online Marketing Team. Was asked to build a global team in July 2012. From April 2009 to August 2011 (2 years 5 months) Toronto, Canada AreaOwner @ I ran a consulting company aimed at providing online marketing strategy primarily for SMBs. This covered activities such as: search engine marketing; social media strategies, email programs; statistical tracking and analysis; as well as web site functionality optimization. Recent work has focused on advisory positions. Clients have included NASDAQ listed companies, advertising agencies, ecommerce sites, startups and a range of SMBs. From November 1997 to August 2011 (13 years 10 months) Senior Online Marketing Manager @ Managed the Online Marketing "Platform and Innovation" team for eBay, Inc. This cross-functional team supported eBay's Global advertising optimization efforts, with a focus on search marketing. The team tested new methodologies for increasing online marketing yield across channels. Winning strategies were then productionalized into eBay's proprietary tools.
