biological principles to increase functionality and robustness with limited onboard resources. Developed a dynamic 10cm single-actuator robot capable of running over varied horizontal surfaces and surviving large falls. Currently developing a 15g robot capable of climbing various surfaces and carrying small sensing payloads. Novel spine-based feet enable dynamic climbing of cloth-covered surfaces as well as loose cloth, a first among legged robots. Also developing feet that will allow dynamic climbing of hard surfaces using soft adhesives and nano-fibrillar adhesives by managing surface conformation and engagement. From July 2008 to May 2013 (4 years 11 months) Research Intern @ From September 2011 to December 2011 (4 months) Research Assistant @ Designed and tested system for measuring effects of acoustic insulation in model homes.
