In early 2015, I co-founded Tixserve which is building a secure and unique mobile ticketing platform for business customers in the live entertainment sector. From January 2015 to Present (11 months) Founder/Board director @ PutBuy powers shopping data partnerships between high street retailers and online consumer-facing brands. From 2012 to Present (3 years) CEO @ Established strategic distribution channel partnership with Camelot, the UK lottery operator. A ruling by the lottery regulator blocked the implementation of this alternative payment solution for e-commerce transactions. From 2009 to 2011 (2 years) Managing Director - business growth @ Was a member of the alphyra/Payzone leadership team from 2000 to 2008 initially as Business Development Director reporting to the CEO, John Nagle. This was followed by roles as Group Commercial Director with P&L line management responsibility for business units in eight European country markets and as Managing Director for Business Growth across the entire group. Was a member of the management buy-out team that took the company private in 2003 with Benchmark Capital. alphyra/Payzone became the largest independent high street payments and cash acceptance network in Europe handling some €12 billion a year on behalf of its clients with some 170,000 retail points of service in twenty one countries. From May 2000 to February 2008 (7 years 10 months) Managing Director @ Was Managing Director (and a founder shareholder) of the European arm of Transaction Network Services Inc. (TNS) from 1996 to 2000 reporting to founder and CEO Jack McDonnell in the US. This followed an initial period as a consultant with responsibility for preparing the business plan that attracted TNS to enter the European market. Established a European Marketing and Technology Centre at East Point Business Park, Dublin including sales, marketing, customer support, network operations and software development functions. Diversified the business into the provision of ATM network services for Tier 2 banks via acquisitions in the UK and Ireland while establishing and supporting TNS network operations in the UK, Sweden, France, Germany and The Netherlands. TNS was acquired by PSINet in late 1999 for in excess of US$750 million. From June 1996 to April 2000 (3 years 11 months) Principal Owner @ Provided electronic transaction consultancy services to a major telco, banks and payment service providers including Transaction Network Services. From September 1988 to May 1996 (7 years 9 months) Principal Officer @ Started my career in the Department of Social Welfare and resigned a senior Principal Officer post in 1988 under a career break scheme to initiate and manage a study of the emerging electronic transaction market place. The European Commission, IDA Ireland, Telecom Eireann and Digital supported this strategic national project, known as POSVAN (point of sale value added network).
