In this new position, Pascal plays a crucial role in the development strategy of the company by structuring the workforce from Executive to line levels, implementing the modern Human Resources techniques and fostering internal communication to enable the Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne to reinforce its position as employer of reference on the national and international academic market. The Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne, the first and voted best hospitality academic institution in the world, has a major plan of development over the coming years including both an important facility development, an increase in number of students and program as well as a growth in international presence.

Responsible for all aspects of Human Resources function for all populations of this 415 employees’ institution.
Executive Committee member of the company, leading a team of 7 business partners
Functions include all aspects of Human Resources including talent acquisition, negotiations with the institution constituencies, career counselling, manpower planning, talent retention, social and motivational activities, performance management, career planning, and compensation and benefits.
Personally in charge of functions including coaching, development. Manpower/ succession planning for Executives.
Develops the Human Resources budget, controls and approves costs for the office.
Audits the general Human Resources indicators.
Leads the communication between the corporate office and the various departments of the institution. Ensures that the communication is ongoing, fluid and that messages are correctly passed and understood.
Assists the General Secretary in the implementation of the governance in the institution.
Actively participated in the development of the new institutional structure including the development of a holding, as well as the organisational rules of operation.
Represents the Management in official events locally, nationally or internationally including events with Alumni, officials or prospect students.
In regular contact with faculty members specialised in HR or students to discuss Human Resources issues and share experience. From July 2013 to Present (2 years 3 months) Lausanne Area, SwitzerlandCorporate Vice President - Learning and Development @ Pascal Gauthier held the position of Corporate Vice President Learning and Development for Hyatt Hotels Corporation – International Operations from December 2010 to February 2013. In his current position Pascal oversaw the L&D functions for 111 hotels in the International Operation’s unit, regrouping all hotels outside of the United States, Canada and the Caribbean. This role included the creation, deployment and assessment of learning tools covering all levels of employment from line employee to senior management.
Over these past years he has designed and implemented successfully training programs to develop senior executives at corporate/divisional levels and unit executives about to be promoted to hotel General Managers.
Pascal was in direct contact with both Learning and Development and Human Resources Specialists worldwide, and has always been instrumental in their preparation and development.
Being a certified company tutor, he regularly ran leadership seminars for top management teams and led the coaching of Executives and General Managers both at hotel and corporate level.
