📖 Summary
Over the years, I have been fortunate to have taken part in a large variety of projects using a variety of different technologies. My experience has primarily revolved around the design and development of large scale java based web applications. I've had the opportunity to develop applications for numerous companies from Nintendo of America to HSBC. Currently my goals are to increase my design and application architecture skills while spending significant time developing better management skills. Currently I am working as an application architect for 2Paths Solutions which is allowing me to develop applications for several NGO and non-profit organizations doing work to improve the world that we live in. Needless to say my current work is very fulfilling.Director of Engineering and Operations @ From September 2015 to Present (4 months) Vancouver, Canada AreaDirector of Software Engineering @ Pulse is the internal agency for Electronic Arts tasked with the strategy, design and development of the vast majority of EA's web properties. We work as the trusted marketing & web development partner for our game and marketing teams. We're responsible for not only the marketing sites but also game web extensions for the majority of EA's web properties. I over see a team of fifty plus developers located across North America. I facilitate the design and development of each of our projects ensuring processes and policies are in place to ensure the efficient and effective and high-quality delivery of our projects working along side operations and production. I've helped implement a scrum agile process fostering an environment where testing, continuous integration, development standards are the foundation of all our projects. I've also work within the senior management team devising strategy, direction and policy for the department overall. From November 2013 to Present (2 years 2 months) Technical Director @ As technical director for EA Sports internal agency Pulse, I'm responsible for the techinical direction of all projects and processes. I work with game, marketing and art & design teams to devise the best technical approach to a given project. I liaise with other teams to collaborate on the technical direction for the overall company. Lastly I work with our developers local and abroad to deliver solutions on time and budget. From December 2012 to Present (3 years 1 month) Application Architect @ While at 2Paths, I worked on to bring in new business, develop meaningful partnerships and design and deliver quality results. It was at 2Paths that I had the opportunity to work on several meaningful projects in the International Development space. Working with foundations such as the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation, the Gremeen foundation and the OECD to try and make a positive impact within the developing world through technology. We also worked with local partners to bring technical solutions to several well known institutions such as Langara Collage & the Government of Alberta. I was able to work with a highly talented team dedicated to delivering quality products to our customers through an agile development process. From April 2008 to December 2012 (4 years 9 months) Application Architect @ Application architect on several java related projects. Initially brought in to help design and develop a new banking system in java. Preformed analysis on existing internal java systems and provided recommendations on how to improve the maintainability and increase the scalability of these systems, thereafter leading the implementation of those recommendations. From March 2005 to April 2008 (3 years 2 months) Senior Developer / Team Lead @ Took part in the design and development of web applications for some of the largest global brands in the world. Primarily working with Nintendo of America. I lead teams ranging from 1 to 7 developers. Being that Blast Radius is a consulting firm, I had the opportunity to work on a large variety of platforms and with an equally large variety of technologies from Java to Microsoft.
