Omar Cigueras Caceres was born and raised in Cunidad de Guanacaste, Costa Rica. He holds a B.S. in Mining and Metallurgy from the Universidad de Costa Rica, and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Fuqua International University. Omar Caceres started his professional career in 1967 as an Ordinary Member at Puntotermo, a small metallurgical company. He has held many managerial and administrative positions at Puntotermo in Chile, including President and CEO, Executive Assistant and Assistant Manager. From there he moved to BHP Billiton in Australia, where he served as Manager of Mines and Metallurgy. From there he moved to Inuvialuit Resources LLP in Malaysia, where he became Director of Mines and Metals. He was then transferred to the WCA Honduras S. de R.L. de C.V. as General Manager. He was responsible for all aspects of the Guatemalan mining industry, including operations, marketing, transportation, finance, resources, and human resources. From there he moved to CE Mining & Investment as Corporate President. dodged military service in NicaraguaCaceres was born in Cunidad de Guanacaste, Costa Rica, and was raised in Nicaragua. He wasDrafted into the Nicaraguan National Guard in 1984, but he was exempted due to his father's employment with Puntotermo, and he did not serve in the National Guard. In 1990 Omar Caceres was drafted again into the Nicaraguan National Guard but this time he was exempted and he did not serve. In 1992 Omar Caceres joined the Costa Rican Armed Forces, and was discharged in 1994. After discharge, Omar Caceres studied Business Administration at Fuqua International University in Costa Rica. In 1998 Omar Caceres received his Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the Universidad de Costa Rica.Experience of working with various mining and metals companiesAn active member of the management team of a small metallurgical company for eight years, Omar Caceres has accumulated various experience in the industry of mining and metals. He has held many managerial and administrative positions at various mining and metals companies, most recently at CE Mining & Investment where he is currently corporate president. At CE Mining & Investment, Omar Caceres served as President and CEO, Executive Assistant and Assistant Manager. Prior to this, he was the Manager of Mines and Metallurgy at WCA Honduras S. de R.L. de C.V. It was in this role that Omar Caceres was responsible for all aspects of the Guatemalan mining industry, including operations, marketing, transportation, finance, resources, and human resources.In 1998 Omar Caceres received his Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the Universidad de Costa Rica.
