Noreen Sullivan began her education at Northeastern University with a B.A. in Psychology in 1996. After a two year hiatus, she completed a M.A. in Educational Counseling in 1998. Sullivan then studied at the University of Kansas for a graduate degree in Counseling Psychology in 2001.Sullivan then worked for eight years as a guidance counselor and work readiness trainer with the Kansas Department of Children and Families. From 2007-2013, she served as the National Coordinator for the National Work Readiness Training Consortium. In this role, she created and directed the training program that teaches self-confidence, stress management, and work readiness skills to secondary school and middle school students.Since her elevation to this role, Sullivan has developed and popularized the work readiness skills that she has developed. These skills include self-awareness, stress management, communication, and research-based practices. These skills are utilized by employers, work readiness teams, and job seekers on a national level to help them better understand and manage their job situations.Sullivan's work readiness skills have helped her obtain various awards, including the prestigious William S. Donaldson Award from the Mississippi Society of Counselors in 2018. She has also been featured on the cover of the magazine "Counselor" and the prestige columnist " Work Chris " in 2017.Sullivan has also been a guest speaker at numerous conferences, conducting training courses for all levels of workers. Most recently, she presented her work readiness skills at the association for career counseling conference in August 2019.Sullivan's ability to develop and popularize her work readiness skills demonstrates her dedication to the field of work readiness.
