🎓 Education

Noam Segal is a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Psychological Science at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He has also been a research associate at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a research fellow at the Open University of Finland. He is the author of “The Origins of Emotional Intelligence” and of “Twenty-First Century skills for a digital age: Some remarks on the current state of knowledge.”Segal’s professional experience and education have animated his research activity. He has been interested in the psychological correlates of intelligence and empathy since his undergraduate years and has worked on a variety of research projects in the area. His most recent projects focus on the application of empathy meditation in cognitive interventions and on the neuroscience behind the development of empathy. Additionally, he is the founder and director of the Illicit and IllicitlyObsessed online course on empathy.Segal has published extensively in journals in the area of psychology and neuroscience, and his book "The Origins of Emotional Intelligence" was published in 2013. Segal is also a regular speaker at international conferences on the topic of empathy.
