From January 2014 to May 2014 (5 months) Greater Pittsburgh AreaSoftware Development Intern @ I wrote my own remote file synchronization protocol over Delphix's custom session protocol DSP (Delphix Session Protocol). The protocol was based on the Unix rsync tool and was aimed to minimize byte data sent between machines (i.e. sending only byte changes/deltas) and to provide extended functionality of resume, suspend, and progress tracking. The changed byte data was founding using a rolling hash algorithm. Benchmarked against rsync, the byte difference algorithm worked equally as well. From May 2013 to August 2013 (4 months) Freelancer @ I started working as a freelancer on the site As a freelancer, I take on odd jobs here and there which gives me a wide variety of programming projects to work on. My main focus is web and mobile app development. From December 2011 to May 2013 (1 year 6 months) Software Developer Intern @ I interned at Yext's main office in New York City during the summer between my sophomore and junior year at CMU. I worked on a logging server and visualizer that allowed a user to see the current 'state' of the system based on incoming logging messages from the Log4j system. From June 2012 to August 2012 (3 months) Student Medical Shadower @ I was accepted into the Fall 2011 Preceptorship Program between Carnegie Mellon University and the UPMC hospital. I committed 100+ hours of medical shadowing in various branches of the hospital. From August 2011 to November 2011 (4 months) Greater Pittsburgh AreaResearch Intern @ I worked in the Tec^Edge program within the USAF. During this time, I created a interactive war game in the virtual world. My main project was to create a new way to interact with the virtual world using Microsoft's Kinect. In this way, a human could control his/her virtual avatar using real body motions such as head turning and pointing. From June 2011 to August 2011 (3 months) Dayton, Ohio AreaPeer Tutor for Concepts of Mathematics @ I took a peer tutor training course and also tutored for the course Concepts of Mathematics.
