I am currently working as an Online Merchandiser within Mitre & Prostar - part of the Pentland Group. The Pentland Group was voted in the top 10 of the Great Place To Work Survey, and had a turnover last year of over £1.7billion. It’s exciting to be a part of a family owned business which is excelling in the sporting market, not only in the UK but globally. I joined the company in 2014 where I've taken on a new and exciting role which I can develop myself and be creative with the way I work. I work alongside the marketing team, customer services, the field representatives, supply chain, operations, and different aspects of the business to drive sales in specialized accounts. The role is extremely rewarding and working with a company like Pentland is a great experience. Previous to this I was a Telesales Specialist within the same company and I've been the Sales & Marketing Manager for Xerise4Less in Wakefield prior to that. This including running the membership team, marketing the store within the catchment area with creative ideas and driving sales. Prior to this I was a retail manager within JD Sports for 5 years. During my time within the company I worked in many stores around the area from Bradford to Scarborough, and I pride myself on the accomplishments which I made whilst within the company. I helped many stores which were declining on last years figures into stores which were smashing targets and ended my career within JD helping to manage a brand new store taking over £1 million in less than a month.B2B & E-Com Online Merchandiser @ I have taken up a new opportunity within Mitre & Prostar to drive sales and opportunity within our digital platforms. I'm new to the role and hopefully will be able to bring 5 years of retailer merchandising and creative ideas to the table as well as being able to show ownership over the sites to push growth and margin on the site. - A standard E-Commerce site for the general consumer. Mitreprostar,com - A B2B portal designed for our stockists to make stock checking and order placing much easier and cost effective. 70% of customers are using the online system. From January 2015 to Present (11 months) Wakefield, United KingdomTelesales Specialist @ I worked within Pentland Brands for Mitre & Prostar, occupying a brand new position which mixes several different job roles into one, and it meant I could be extremely creative and have a big say in how the role should develop and improve. My role is was based in Wakefield, and from here I tried to increase sales from our smaller accounts, working alongside the field representatives and the UK sales manager, and the customer service team. The role also included aspects of accounts, customer service, and project management to the role. From March 2014 to January 2015 (11 months) Wakefield, United KingdomSales & Marketing Manager @ I worked within Xercise4Less as the Sales & Marketing Manager at the Wakefield gym. I was in charge of the membership team, making sure that there systems were up to date, that we were hitting over individual targets, and coming up with new ideas to push the sales team and drive them to sell. I was also in charge of marketing the gym, which included a budget to come up with new ways of getting our name out to our target market, as well as trying to set up new partnerships with companies and businesses in the area to get them to use our gym. I was also involved with the personal trainers, working with them to get new business in the gym and get them new clients. I was instrumental to the running of the gym, helping with the operations side of the business. From September 2013 to March 2014 (7 months) Wakefield, United KingdomRetail Sales Manager @ Accomplishments - Moving my way from sales assistant to store manager. Winning employee of the month for the Yorkshire area within my first month in management. Whilst in Leeds I merchandised the footwear display which was trading negatively so it went against the companies running order. The layout which I suggested in Leeds got actioned months later to be rolled out throughout all 400+ stores in the company. Helped revitalize the Castleford store which had been declining for the past 18 months into a store than was trading 25% positive compared to LY figures. Handpicked by the regional manager to help open the new White Rose store over Xmas 2012, smashing LY by 75% and target by 25%. As a store we took well over £1million in December alone. We also won £10,000 to split between the sales assistants as we were the top performing store within the company.
