From April 2013 to September 2014 (1 year 6 months) Perth, AustraliaSuperintendent Mine Planning @ Managed the mine planning aspects for the Eastern Pilbara of BHP Billiton’s Western Australian Iron Ore, supervising 5 senior mining engineers and graduates. The Eastern Pilbara contributes over 100Mtpa of ore, and includes Mt Whaleback and the recently commissioned Jimblebar operations. From April 2010 to April 2013 (3 years 1 month) Senior Mining Engineer @ Formulated open pit mine optimisation, design, optimised long-term mine and integrated business plans for the Western Australian nickel business. . Provided technical input to acquisitions and divestments, business strategies, and closure planning. From November 2007 to April 2010 (2 years 6 months) Mining Engineer @ Provided both long and short-term mine planning direction to Mount Keith and the broader WMC (Western Mining Corporation) / BHP Billiton nickel business unit. Activities varied from mine and waste dump design, to the creation of life of mine plans and pit optimisation of operating and prospective open cut mines. From July 2003 to November 2007 (4 years 5 months) Mine Geologist @ Responsible for providing clean, quality ore to the Mt Keith concentrator. Leading and working with a team of 8 geologists and 4 pit technicians. Duties included acting as the Geological Superintendent, end of month reconciliation and reporting, continuous improvement of and mine geologist activities, working with site metallurgists and mining engineers to resolver problems and daily grade control tasks. From January 2001 to July 2003 (2 years 7 months) Graduate Geologist @ General Gold Operations (GGO) was a wholly owned subsidiary of General Gold Resources. GGO was formed to operate the Mt Todd (Yimuyn Manjerr) gold mine, approximately 60km North of Katherine in the Northern Territory.
