From March 2010 to October 2010 (8 months) Product Director @ D&B acquired Purisma to help their customers get more value out of D&B reference data. I helped sell Purisma's vision to D&B during the acquisition, and then spent a lot of time in the trenches with sales to drive growth. Led our effort to relaunch our onsite product as a cloud service. From November 2007 to March 2010 (2 years 5 months) Engineer and Product Manager @ Articulated a vision of master data management that was about understanding customers rather than integrating data. Helped build our v1 product, implemented our first customer deployments, and then took on product management. From October 2003 to November 2007 (4 years 2 months) Engineer @ Xtime powers online auto appointments and helps coordinate labor, parts, etc. behind the scenes. I learned how to build reasonably complex systems, that managing people is not easy, and that driving change starts with helping people see a different future. From September 1999 to October 2003 (4 years 2 months) Biz Dev @ Helped raise hundreds of millions of dollars from major telcos, banks, and investors around the world in pursuit of our dream of launching 288 satellites into low earth orbit in order to provide broadband data services to every point on the globe. It was a lot of fun.
Ended up failing for a lot of reasons but still one of the coolest jobs ever. Worked with a bunch of amazingly talented people who were also incredibly fun to be around. From June 1997 to August 1999 (2 years 3 months) Researcher under Andrew Lippman @ Designed parallel algorithms to identify discrete objects in motion video clips, back when having 32 CPUs was a big deal.
